Lake Region Anglers Association

The Lake Region Anglers Association (LRAA) was founded in 1975 and is guided by its six founding principles: Conservation, Preservation, Sportsmanship, Fellowship, Lake Access, and Youth Education/Activities. In accordance with these principles, LRAA actively supports a large variety of community activities throughout the year to include providing funding, equipment, technical assistance, scholarships, and volunteers. LRAA also provides educational opportunities such as fishing seminars and other events such as classes to improve technical skills. LRAA places a strong focus on providing opportunities for youth to include Fishing Exploratory Days for middle school students as well as sponsoring and providing assistance for youth fishing tournaments and activities. Finally, LRAA provides scholarships for Lake Region area youth to attend a variety of outdoor sporting and fishing educational events.
The Lake Region Anglers Association has displayed leadership in the Devils Lake Region by providing funding and volunteer labor for nine lake access sites and four fish cleaning station projects to include the first ever indoor four-season fish cleaning station in North Dakota. LRAA has also been a major supporter of the Outdoor Heritage Fund Shore Fishing Project which includes the construction of three handicap accessible fishing piers on Devils Lake.
The Association is and its members are very active in supporting a wide variety of organizations and events that provide fishing opportunities to all ages and also encourage ethical and wise use of outdoor resources through its educational activities.
The Lake Region Anglers Association is an outstanding organization whose members provide leadership in educating others about the sport and ethics of fishing while continuously working to improve access and provide opportunities for others to experience fishing and the outdoors.
