Allan is a resident of Devils Lake and he has been instrumental in the overall improvement of fishing access and facilities in the area. When Devils Lake began to rise to record levels in the early 1990’s, Allan devoted countless hours and was a leader in efforts to establish new boat ramps to provide access to the expanded lake area. His efforts led to the establishment of new ramps and greatly improved access to the fishing opportunities provided by the greatly expanded lake area. Allan was also the leader in the development of the year-round fish cleaning station in Devils Lake, from the inception of the idea to the completion of the project.
Additionally, Allan is a tireless promoter of fishing and the opportunities provided in the Devils Lake area. He works closely with the Devils Lake Tourism and North Dakota Tourism departments to promote the excellent fishing in North Dakota. He volunteers his time to assist with youth fishing camps and tournaments. He is continuously promoting the fishing opportunities at Devils Lake and can often be seen providing information to anglers to help them have a successful fishing experience. He has been an officer of local organizations to include the Lake Region Anglers Association, Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce, and Devils Lake Access Committee.
Allan is devoted to improving the fishing opportunities in Devils Lake while also promoting the area and helping other anglers be successful. His talents, hard work, and dedication to sport fishing have truly improved the opportunities for others to have an enjoyable and successful fishing experience at Devils Lake.
