Duaine Ash

Duaine is a resident of Devils Lake and has been a long serving supporter of sportfishing and preservation of the fishing resources in North Dakota. He has served as an executive officer with the North Dakota Sportfishing Congress, Lake Region Anglers Association, and Friends of Lake Sakakawea and is also a member of a variety of other organizations such as the Ramsey County Water Resource Board that support sportfishing and related resources.
Duaine has been a leader and played an instrumental role with the Lake Region Anglers Association of Devils Lake when the lake levels were rising. He was instrumental in ramp and dock access and improvements in cleaning and improving shoreline area. He has volunteered countless hours to improve the resource as well as providing fishing opportunities for others, especially for youth.
Duaine served as president of the North Dakota Sportfishing Congress for over 10 years and served as their lobbyist at the ND legislature for 4 sessions to advance and protect sportfishing. He also served as chairperson for Friends of Lake Sakakawea and during his term was involved with the first revision of the Corp of Engineers Master Manual concerning the Missouri River resource.
Duaine’s leadership and efforts have been invaluable to sportfishing in North Dakota. He has always displayed an unselfish dedication to help and educated others, positively promote sportfishing, and preserve and protect the fishery resources.
